But, we say that Report Writing is a science, art and finally a craft, be it be a research report, workshop report, training report, annual report for the NGOs and any corporate entity. The new era of highly demanding professionalism calls for not only a prose type report, but, it requires related photos, graphs-charts-tables, case studies with photos as proof, visuals and all these needs to be in colors, which attracts the related stakeholders. The facilitator of the course has acquired all these crafts over the 20 years through working with the UN Agencies and International agencies like World Bank, Asian Development Bank, GIZ and other international NGOs, while he had written numerous reports covering all the sectors mentioned above.

This course would focus on Report Writing Techniques and Skill Development through applying different methods of creative Report Writing.

Session-1 (3 Hours)
Importance of Professional Writing Skills-an Overview
Writing skills are an important part of communication. Good writing skills allow you to communicate your message with clarity and ease to a far larger audience than through face-to-face or telephone conversations. You might be called upon to write a report on anything, plan or strategy at work; write a grant application and/or write an Annual Report for your NGO or Company. It could be said that poor writing skills create poor first impressions and many readers/employers will have an immediate negative reaction if they spot a poor write-up with spelling or grammatical mistake. This session will deal with the importance of Professional Writing Skills.
Basic Writing Skills
This session would provide the participants with the basic writing skills to move forward with report writing management

Session-2 (3 Hours)
Common Writing Mistakes
Some writing mistakes are very common and frequently seen in everywhere. This session details some of the most common and easily avoidable writing mistakes. By learning to recognize such errors you can improve your writing skills and avoid common writing mistakes in the future. Remember mistakes in writing can be embarrassing and costly. This session would lead you towards the methods of not-committing common mistakes.
8 Ways to Avoid Negative Sentences
We all know that the obvious double negatives (e.g., not + nobody, no one, never, etc.) are grammatically incorrect. You might be surprised, however, by how we often inadvertently use other types of multiple negative words in a sentence. Doing so truly confuses everyone and makes readers work harder to grasp your message. This session will deal with the ways of avoiding negative sentences.

All about grammar to support you to be a professional

Participants in this session would be involved in some practical exercises depending on the theories/clues given in the previous session.

This session would provide the participants with a generic Report Writing Structure and also would show some examples of different types of practical reports in order to build an idea for the tasks of the next three sessions.

Writing the Report-Essential Stages
This session would deal with the essential stages of Effective Report Writing.
9 Technical Writing Tips
These tips would provide the participants with a vivid idea about managing a Technical Writimg.

Day-6 (3 Hours)
All About Report Writing
This session would provide the participants with some practical examples of structuring and managing a report.


The course would be concluded through recapitulation of the previous sessions in order to capture any challenges left and also providing their solutions.
