Introduction

The goal of the course is to increase knowledge and requisite skills of participants on the use of SPSS and to enable them make the most of this powerful software package while allowing them to work independently with SPSS on their own data and provide a solid foundation for advanced data analysis work.

Day 1: INTRODUCTION TO STATISTICS
-Introduction to Statistics & level of Measurements
-Data Summarization and Presentation
-Measures of Central Tendency
-Measures of Dispersion
-Measures of Position and The Normal Curve
-Probability

Day 2: DATA MANAGEMENT& PRESENTATION
-Data, Sources of Data, Types of Data, Data Coding.
-Frequency Distribution, Different types of diagrams and graphs.
-Bar Diagram, Pie chart, Histogram, Frequency polygon, Frequency Curve, Ogive, Line graph

Day 3: Measure of Central Tendency, Dispersion Skewness and Kurtosis & Correlation
-Arithmetic Mean, Weighted AM, Median & Mode.
-Percentiles, Percentiles Rank, Geometric Mean, Harmonic Mean.
-Range, Quartile Deviation & Standard Deviation
-Box and Whisker Plot, Stem leaf Measure of Skewness, Measure of Kurtosis, Correlation

Day 4: Distribution & Hypothesis Test
-Normal Distribution, Z- Statistics, Central Limit Theorem
-Null and Alternative Hypothesis, Type 1 & Type 2 Error, P Value.
-One Sample t test, Chi-square test, Fisher's Exact Test
