Introduction

Development and humanitarian relief organizations manage their work through projects. Their offices are staffed by project teams that write project proposals, develop plans, implement activities, and track progress and impact. To thrive and succeed, these organizations need to develop the knowledge and skills to manage their projects well. Every organization’s project management process is unique, reflecting its culture, systems, policies and programmatic activities. Nevertheless, all project management models have at least one thing in common, which is monitoring and evaluation for accountability and learning.

Strong monitoring and evaluation for accountability and learning (MEAL) is essential for any project success.

Benefit of this course completion:
This is a four session based online course that aims to develop the competencies needed to monitor and evaluate intervention for accountability and learning in development and humanitarian settings. Upon completion, participants will be able to demonstrate the essential skills and confidence to monitor programme interventions, plan required interventions and evaluate programme impact using appropriate tools and methods.

Sonny Dcosta has series of professional certifications internationally and nationally namely; Diploma course on Social Analysis and Development; Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning for development professionals (MEAL Dpro); Project Management for Development Professionals (PMD Pro) from APMG. Has specialization training from abroad (UK and Malaysia), ToT on Cooperative Management (CBO), trained on Result Based Management (planning and monitoring), Report writing and analytical skill development in his professional working period. He has master’s degree in Management.
He has been working for Tearfund UK-Bangladesh as Design Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning Coordinator and has history of working about 14 years with both international and national organisations (NGOs) in various projects’ quality assurance and project management roles in the urban and rural communities in Bangladesh.
In professional engagement with different organisations Sonny DCosta successfully established community based monitoring, evaluation, feedback and complaint system and built capacity a significant number of project personnel on MEAL issues. For functionality of organisational Adaptive Management, he plays an important role through quality project identification, project design and planning, collecting, analysing and using MEAL information in different sectors and stakeholders
